My daughter recently had a birthday. To celebrate, I ordered Hamilton themed t-shirts for her & her friends... she’s obsessed. So I got on Taobao and ordered half a dozen shirts direct from the factory.
The shirts were custom printed and delivered to my home in THREE days. The total cost per shirt was 37 RMB… less than $6.00 each! Delivered!
Where else can you get a CUSTOMIZED product delivered direct from the factory in that amount of time at such a low price?
My point is this. The level of #competition in China is NEXT LEVEL.
One of the most common problems foreign brands have with China entry is assuming that they’re special.
That whatever they have is special, unique, worth selling etc. and that this ALONE will drive their #success in China.
In a place where you can get just about anything customized and delivered factory-direct at bottom dollar, you need MORE than a “special” product.
You need to be ready to compete.
To differentiate yourself and your brand and PROVE to Chinese consumers that you're worth their time and money.
All while providing the white-glove customer service that consumers demand and expect in #China.
