The market for mom & baby products in China is growing at an incredible pace. By 2023, the mom & baby category is estimated to reach 5.05 TRILLION RMB, and the demand for high-quality products will only continue to grow.
In GUOJI.PRO’s latest Chinese language report, they detail the latest trends in the mom & baby market and how brands can best reach their target consumers. Here are a few of the key takeaways from the report:
- Post-80s and post-90s consumers account for more than 80%. The third- and fourth-tier cities account for nearly 47%, and over 68% of the consumers are willing to spend over 200 RMB per product.
- In 2021H1, there were six major shopping festivals in the mom & baby category, including New Year's Day, Spring Festival, 3.8 Women’s Day, 420 Parent-child Day, Mother's Day, and 618 Shopping Festival.
- Weibo, Xiaohongshu, and Douyin have become the key platforms for the distribution of mom & baby related content. During the 618 period, the number of brands promoting on Weibo showed a downward trend while the number significantly increased on Douyin. The number of related live broadcasts on Douyin was higher than that of the Kuaishou and Taobao live broadcast platforms.
